Brinchang

Brinchang currently is the biggest town in Cameron Highland. It seats several hotels, night markets, military camps, public service and commercial centre. The people here are mainly Chinese.

It is the second tourist town in Pahang after Tanah Rata. One of its attractions is the Night Market available during weekends and the Malaysian school holidays, where many vegetable stalls and food stalls are set up.

Kampung Raja

Kampung Raja, also known as ‘the king’s village’ is the northern gateway to Cameron Highlands from Simpang Pulai. It was founded in early 1980 due to a water dam project which was built on the site of the original village near Ringlet. As a result of that, the state government moved the affected residents into a well-planned new village with houses and basic needs as compensation. The village later was called Kampung Raja. It is the only village in Cameron Highlands which is well planned and organised.

Kea Farm

Kea Farm, the highest located village in the Cameron Highlands and also peninsular Malaysia, is one of the most famous tourist spots in Cameron Highlands. Plenty of stalls selling fresh vegetables, flowers, butterfly farms and self-plucking strawberry farms can be found here. Here also is the entrance of the Sungai Palas and highest mountain in Cameron Highlands, Gunung Brinchang. Equatorial hotel is located here too.

Kampung Kuala Terla

Kampung Kuala Terla, is one of the small towns in Cameron Highlands of Malaysia, is located 5 km away from Kampung Raja. Most of the people here are farmers.

The people here converse well in Cantonese, Mandarin and Bahasa Melayu. The population consist of mostly Chinese, Indian and Malays

The tourism industry in this area of Cameron Highlands has grown rapidly since the official opening of the Second East-West Highway. Tourist attractions such as a coffee shop souvenir stalls and restaurants are mushrooming all over this small town.

Tanah Rata

Tanah Rata is a town located in Cameron Highlands, Pahang, Malaysia. The name “tanah rata” means flat ground in Malay and it refers to the relatively flat area on which the town is located amidst this highland region.

It is the biggest town in Cameron Highlands and contains the most number of facilities and amenities, including the district council and the main hospital in Cameron Highlands. Having a taxi station and a bus station makes it easy to travel to other parts of Cameron Highlands, as well as to Ipoh (the biggest city nearest to Cameron Highlands) and to Kuala Lumpur (the capital city). It also has a good selection of backpacker inns and good-class hotels at various prices.

Main attraction in Tanah Rata is the Mardi Plantation Centre and its business centre. Several shops have been opened in the town including Starbucks Coffee.

There is also a budget traditional Malay Kampung Homestay located at Kampung Taman Sedia. The people here are mainly Malay.

Tringkap

Tringkap is a small town in Cameron Highlands, Pahang, Malaysia. It is also known as ‘Dai Gong Si’(大公司)by local people as it was once upon a time where the tea plantation corporation located (now Boh Tea Plantation). It located 8 km from Brinchang and just besides the famous tea plantation, the Sungai Palas BOH Tea Plantation. Amongst the famous spots are rose valley, bees farms, vegetables farms and various stalls selling fresh vegetables, flowers, honeys, strawberry and local products.
